Hi everyone,
Sorry to bother you yet again with a prayer request!
I just got a call from my 95yo grandmother. She lives several states away, and has a caregiver during the day (and I thought at night too but it didn't sound that way from her conversation today). She has severe osteoporosis and several other issues that require some level of daily care.
Anyway, her eye doctor (!?!) said today that he wants her to move closer to family and she finally agreed. We have been suggesting it for years. Problem is now my dad. He and my mom live about 20 min away from us and he has power of attourney (sp?) and makes all her decisions, financial and otherwise! (i.e. getting her caregivers, etc) He has been using her money to live on, I know. She is almost broke.
I now have to call my dad and discuss this with him. I also have to help my grandmother move here, set up an apartment, and find a caregiver or some other arrangements if he refuses.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO START.
Sorry to shout. I'm at a total loss! Not only for the whys and wheres, but the $$$.
Prayers please for my gradmother and my dad, and that I can somehow figure out how to do all this. In my "spare time"
I think this poor woman is going to outlive me.

Amy, I'm praying for you & your grandmother! These decisions are never easy, but it's wonderful that she has you to look towards for help!

Asking St. Anne to intercede for the situation with your grandmother, Amy. Hang in there...God has placed this in your path for a reason. You are a good and faithful grand-daughter. What a consolation that is for your grandmother who must feel so frightened at the prospects before her.

Quick update as the baby just woke up - thank you everyone for your prayers!!
I was able to talk rationally with my dad. He is so funny (and sarcastic) - as we were discussing it he said, "You know Amy, with having five young children and homeschooling them all, I think you would be the perfect one to handle all this too."
ETA: whoops, baby hit enter! LOL
He seems to be caring and rational about it all right now, so I have agreed to let him handle it, with the understanding that I'll do what I can and help him when he needs it. I still fear for my grandmother and her frail mind and health (up until recently she was of sound mind - not so much now) but I'll have to put my trust in my earthly and heavenly Fathers!
Thanks again for the prayers.
