My sister had her baby and she is doing well now but baby Alexa had to stay in the nicu. She had a infection and her jaundice just keeps getting worse she is unable to nurse because she has to be under the lights and is not tolerating the formula.My sister is trying to pump and give her the milk through a feeding tube that goes to her tummy. She has a good latch but is just not strong enough because of all the meds. Please pray for them both...

Praying for your sister & her tiny babe!   I had similar issues with Nate, and we went on to a very successful nursing relationship after his stay in the NICU.

I don't know if this will help, but my first 3 had jaundice. They did the wrap-around lights thing with my oldest (ugh, what a nightmare). With the second and third my mom "took charge" and exposed them (no shirt) to sunlight through a window (dappled sun) in the early morning for a couple hours, turning the baby every now and then if in a seat, or just in her arms (or mine) and then again in the afternoon after 3. Jaundice is very common among Asian babies, but this is how they do it in the Philippines and how my mom and grandma did it with all their kids. It works!

Praying that baby Alexa gets well ASAP.

Thank you all so much, my sister and her baby are doing much better it seems as though my niece will come home tommorow. Her jaundice levels have dropped and my sister is very determined to breastfeed her. So I am happy about that. I really appreciate all your prayers.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts. My sister is home with her little girl Alexa!!
She is doing so awesome, she is breastfeeding like they were never apart
My biggest fear was that they wouldn't be able to have a succesful nursing relationship.
But God is Great and heard all the prayers, it has turned out better than expected, truly a miracle.

Thank you so much!!!

Keep on praying for my sister though she is in a abusive relationship with her boyfriend and we just can't seem to get through to her so I always pray for her conversion. Now that they have a baby I am scared sometimes. For the sake of their family, please pray for them.
