Oh boy! My oldest son (10yo) is really struggling with adopting an attitude of joyful service. We have been dealing with this issue for several months now and it has finally come to a head. He has been "jokingly" disrespecting us, has become volatile about doing his chores and other things we ask him to do and will not do anything without messing around and has to be asked numerous times to complete even the simplest of tasks. Last Thursday he pointed his Boy Scout knife at a neighbor boy in a threatening manner because he wanted the boy to get out of the tree house. Since then, his playtime has been eliminated until he demonstrates a "Service with a Happy Heart" mentality and an ability to put God and others before himself.

Please storm heaven for this struggling little guy that his heart will be softened and that we can move forward from this. Please also pray for my hubby and I that we can deal with this in a prayerful and appropriate manner. I am finding that I really have to squelch my anger through this.
