Some of ya'll may remember that my DH just retired from the army in April, and we've moved to OK to our dream place, from NC...

Well, the VA is taking a long time getting thru the evaluation process for his VA claim, and we NEED that money. We are not making the money from his retirement that we had expected. He didn't get as much in his final lump payment from the Army as we had expected (say, $2000 less!), we got less from the IRS stimulus than we were expecting, and he isn't full time yet with the new civilian job (which won't add "much" a paycheck, but some is better than none!).

PLEASE PLEASE pray that the VA will evaluate his case EXTREMELY quickly...the sooner the better. And in our favor. DH is going to be contacting the Army to find out why we didn't get the money we were expecting in that final lump sum--in case they got it wrong...but I don't hold out a lot of hope on that one...The VA money is crucial to us..it "could" take as long as 6-9mos, but DH is having his physical exams/evaluations this week and next--so things are progressing...but we need them FAST...

We have a good pantry set up, so all we will have to buy is the incidentals--perishables, etc. And gas (DH drives 20miles each way to work).

Please pray for us...

Praying Rachel, with understanding of your concerns. Those VA gears turn so slowly. Please don't give up, even if initial results don't go your way. Persist, pray, petition Congresspeople...

Oh, Rachel. I remember how long it took for us to receive DH's VA disability check (we didn't know we'd even qualify) and then all the back pay.

Please, continue praying--one of the lights on the van came on today--one of those "this could be expensive to fix" kind of things.

We've got a little bit of money coming soon--DH is owed some money for selling a hot rod engine to someone.

But that won't hold us for long--esp not if we have to have the van fixed.
