Please pray that Dan finds a job (he's applied all over the USA), because he wants to take his family and start again somewhere else. Their home is a wreck and they have no means of earning any money to fix it up.

Update 9/4/07:
God is good, and miracles happen. My friend Dan not only has a great job, finally, but he has a baby daughter. His second son has discerned a vocation to the priesthood!
And...looks like he's finally, finally recovered from all the complications (brain infection, migraines, intelligence loss) from West Nile virus. He's in school (while working) and has a 4.0 GPA.
Your prayers work! God grants miracles! I am so grateful for your prayers...two years after Katrina, this friend really has been blessed.

What is your friends general field - ie kind of work he is looking for. We could sure keep our eyes and ears open. We have many people relocating from LA to our area. We will be praying.

We could be scouting too. We have at least one small mountain community that has a house, car, money, etc. for a family for 6 mos. I don't know if there are any jobs up there though.

He was in the Navy as a cryptologic technician for several years, then was an industrial engineer for NASA for 11 years. I don't think he has completed a college degree. He has lots of computer skills and is an outstanding writer.

Has your friend had any luck in finding a job? My husband says there might be an opening for him in his company, in Reston, Virginia.
He can send his resume to jobs@jl-white.com and copy it to davisc@jl-white.com.
Tell him to put it to the attention of Court Davis. My husband receives these emails as well as the personnel guy.
He can also give my husband a call if he wants to discuss the company and position. (703)262-4306
My husband doesn't do the hiring but does have influence. It is a small company with great benefits.

Would the NSA be a possibility? My dh is a cryptologist there, and I noted the cryptological background of your dh. I also heard via the grapevine that Ft. Meade/NSA will be hiring more people. I don't know how accurate that is, but I do know they need American-born people for NSA.
