Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A helicopter is circling above my house right now. Dh just talked with a woman walking by who told him that a three year old little girl is missing from a street near mine. Dh and a few of my girls are going out to help in the search.

Please say a prayer that this little girl is found safe immediately. Thank you!

She's been found, thank God! In the house. I was half wondering if that might be the case.

But it was very reassuring to see the sheriff's department and this entire area of the neighborhood mobilize to search for her. Makes me feel safer, even if this was a false call.

Thank God! We have been through that, with an 8 yr old, and it is terrifying!

I have also come close to calling the police only to find a child in the house.

The most frightening thing in the world...it's happened to us only to find our family runaway in the house. I am so pleased to hear she is safe.

oh my goodness. we jsut went through this tonight, with Maria. there were many other extra kids over playing in the yard and driveway, and though I thought dh had "assigned" one of our boys "Maria duty" dh thought I had!
It started raining, and getting dark, we rounded up our kids to go in, and sent all the neighbors home. then we all realized we had not seen Maria in quite awhile.
It was just horrible.
She was found finally in our attached garage (the doors had been closed) playing in the suburban.
Now, it is still quite cool (low 80's today) but that garage, and cars get very stifling and hot in the throes of summer. Even though we have up high locks we do not always remember to use them and now I have to add suffocating in car to my list of worries.
thanks for letting me vent here. glad the little girl was found safely.
It was a heart stopping 10 min. that really felt like much much longer...
