That has been my constant prayer for years now, somedays or years more intense then others. Lately, it's all I can say before the tears flow.
We may be losing our home to foreclosure soon. We have always struggled financially but always managed to rob Peter or Paul to get by. Now, our options are exhausted and we too are exhausted. The world today makes it so difficult for a large family like ours to survive in. We have 8 children and my dh is a sweet, dear and a holy man but a poor printer. We just can't ever seem to make ends meet. I don't know where we will go or what we will do, it seems like we can't live anywhere and make it. We moved from a very expensive area to "Radiator Springs", as my children call it, and we still can't do it.
My dh is so sad. He feels like such a failure. It all seems so very, very hopeless. I keep wondering why God gave us the desire to be open to children and to live a Catholic homeschooling life if it will all be taken from us because we have to work 3 jobs to provide.
If you could spare a second, please pray for us. I keep repeating the Divine Mercy prayer, "...so that in difficult moments we may not despair nor become desponded, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is love and mercy itself."
Please forgive the whining, I tried to provide the abridged version.

Maddie--This must be so difficult. I know how the ups and downs of our business affect dh and how it eventually gets to me, and our struggles are not what yours are. I will be praying for you and will offer my afternoon Chaplet for you.

maddie, praying with you. we, too, are working three jobs to get by and it has always "worked" until now. how do you make more money out of nothing to pay all of the bills that have risen?? food, gas, utilities. we kind of half joke that the 12.99 DSL internet connection is the only thing we have left- but it is true. everything else is firmly in the "Need" category, not a want or frivolous.
praying to St Joseph the Worker for you and your family, especially your dh.
my dh works for the Church- guess what pays his salary? tithes, which of course are the first thing people stop doing in a recession.

Oh Maddie, a big hug for you!  I don't know what to say in a way but Mother Teresa's words are coming to me:
"It is important to be faithful not successful."
Due to your faithfulness you are not supposedly leveling up to the world's understanding of success but you are blessed with more than many a rich family out there.
