Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wondering if I could ask you ladies to pray for one of my friends. Katie had massive tumors almost 15 years ago that Sloan Kettering removed, but in the process, her internal organs got really messed up (adhesions, etc.). Last year at this time, her mother passed away from colon cancer. Katie was in the hospital earlier this year with something the doctors couldn't diagnose. She went into the hospital again on Sunday morning after she spend Saturday night vomiting 14 times. They took an x-ray and saw that the obstruction from earlier in the year has dispappeared, however they see a mass on one side that has grown since the last time she was in the hospital. Katie has 3 school age children at home. Her husband, Mike works at a center for juveneille delinquents, and his schedule this week is awful (worked Tuesday night until midnight, and then had to be back at 5 this morning). Katie and Mike are relying on their wonderfully supportive family for help in taking care of the children and the household while Katie is in the hospital. The doctors don't know what to do with her; none of them want to touch her because of her past history and the state of her internal organs. Please pray that the doctors can figure out what is wrong with her, that God's healing power comes upon her and that her family and children experience God's grace and love during this difficult time. Thanks for any prayers you can help out with.

Oh Cindy, how heart wrenching! We're certainly praying for Katie, her family, and her doctors!

Cindy,

I'm so sorry, and will add Katie to our prayers.

We will be praying for sure. Would she feel comfortable asking a priest to annoint her?
Our priest has told us of many miracles which have happened soon after one has been annointed. His mother in fact was diagnosed 25 years ago with ovarian cancer. He had a priest from the seminary annoint her. The day of surgery came and the dr. announced he could not operate. There was no longer any tumors and the ovaries were all clear! As in all the sacraments, the power and healing are tremendous.

Just a thought...

God bless,

Marybeth

Praying here as well! I would also try to get her to receive the sacrament if she is Catholic. Very sad.
