Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Last year I posted a prayer request for my favorite man in the whole world, my husband, who is suffering from a rare and debilitating lung disease and suddenly became so ill, he wasn't able to physically attend his work any longer. To date he is still not working, attempting to continue with recovery at home.

Some time ago Chari had asked me to update the situation, and to tell the truth, it's been such a tough, tough year, I haven't had the emotional ability to even discuss it with anyone outside of our family until now! The health decline can feel very paralyzing at times for my husband and the whole family, and the realization that a double lung transplant is looming ever closer, the only method of restored health in the future, makes some days almost impossible to get through. Supposedly he's already beat the system by four years, but who knows when the "day or the hour" will come. So, we still plan for the future, and try to live as normal as possible.

I want to thank some of the ladies here who sent us the blog of "Confessions of a CF husband", as the information there has been so uplifting, cheery, and so hopeful! Although life can be ultra-gripping at times, like recently when my hubby experienced a bout of bronchial pneumonia whipping him harshly, and then reacting to the medications prescribed, needless to say, as one might imagine, it's been a real nail biter at times.

I began a family blog to share our life over here in the east with family and friends back home, after a sudden work transfer move beckoned us eastward.I invite you to visit with us anytime, although you won't find anything really there about my hubby's health. As an aside however, in light of gathering "support" in the big wide world of lung disease issues, in the near future, we plan to eventually launch a second blog to possibly locate other candidates with the same disease (though there are supposed to be under one dozen at this time around the world), and continue to assist the medical community with the huge interest in my hubby's case, also keeping family and friends abreast of things as they become even more urgent. There is some consolation that my hubby is in great medical hands, both in Canada and the USA. How great is that!

I thank you all for your loving kindness over this past year, with the many private emails, and messages, for you have blessed me greatly. We cherish (!) each and every day here, try to remain upbeat and positive, and remember that our days have already been ordained by God anyway, some solace for peace of mind.

* May I humbly ask for your prayers for the continued long and winding road ahead for my husband. His lung capacity is obviously declining continually, as other difficulties like simple breathing abilities.
* For myself, that I can remain strong for him and the rest of the family during the hard times.
* For our younger children who require some normalcy in their daily lives, knowing all too well their daddy may be in hospital facing a huge medical emergency in the future.

As I mentioned above, we remain optimistic, ever grateful for every little blessing, and thank you in advance for your prayers.

Jesus we trust in Thee!

I tried to post this last night.......but it would not be accepted.......so......here it is:

Oh, Renee.....I had been thinking about you. I am glad you found the strength to post right now. I can understand, in my small way, why it would be hard to update sometimes.

Your husband has been in my daily Saint Joseph prayers.......and will continue.

I think I may have offered this to you before....but I have an email group:
Happyisthehusband group......where we have Catholic wives pryaing for husbands and each other......you are welcome to join, and ask for prayer requests.

I LOVE your blog! It is so special! You have a beautiful family..........I can see why your husband beats the system. Thanks for drawing our attention to it! Keep it up!

And, keep coming back for your specific prayer requests.

God bless you and yours this Easter season
