Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please pray for me/us.

Long story short, I was raised Catholic until about age 7 and then my family left the Church. 30 years later, I'm going back, with my son who was not raised Catholic at all but who has wanted to convert for over 2 years. He spent the weekend with some really good friends and talked with a couple of their priests. He just announced to me and our friends that he believes he has a calling. We went to Adoration for about a half an hour, (It was so amazing! I've never, ever, ever done that before) and I could tell on the drive home something was up. I figured he either wanted to marry their daughter or he finally discerned his religious vocation.

He'll be 19 in two weeks.
I'm just kinda dumbstruck right now with this.

Prayers will be MUCH appreciated!
Thank you so much.

Definitely prayers here - I am always praying for vocations so he will be included. I have a son (age 16) who is discerning also. He hasn't felt strongly that this is his calling. He doesn't know what God's plan is for him - but he is open to it and praying.

There is an acquaintance of ours, through a good friend (all Episcopal), whose 20 year old son converted on his own to Catholicism last Easter and is going into the seminary in the fall. There are some amazing stories of vocations in our current young men. I am so filled with hope.

What a joy to a mother's heart. I’m praying for you, too.

Praying for these boys. That the Holy Spirit will guide them in whatever God has called them to do. How beautiful this is to have sons with this desire!
Blessings,

How wonderful, I will pray that his calling is cultivated and nurtured. Thank you for asking us to pray for this intention.

Thank you all so very, very much. I am so glad to tell my son that there are alot of people from all over, that we don't even know, who are praying for him.

He really needs it right now. We had a bit of a rough night. Right after we went to bed, he got up and called me into his room, he was just in tears and angst and full of doubt. We talked a good long while and he finally settled down.

It absolutely did not help last night that after we got home, he talked to his grandmother and she promptly threw a fit about it. That reaction totally surprised us/him. She is normally 100% supportive of him. He said he never would have told her if he'd have known she was going to react the way she did.

I'm sorry to blab on about this. I have zero Catholic friends nearby to talk to and my husband is not Catholic either. As soon as Holy Week is over, we're going to talk with the priest at our local parish and start getting involved there.

Thank so much for listening and praying!

You're not blabbing on...discerning a vocation is hard, and it takes lots of prayer and time. I think you are doing just fine.

Sadly, many family members and friends of young men who feel called do react negatively. ("What? No grandchildren?") It's sad that so many people view the priesthood as a less-desirable calling. We NEED priests.

Please pray the St. Michael prayer with your son; it sounds as though his faith is already being tested.

Adding my prayers to everyone's here...
