Please please pray for my friend's babies!! She and her husband were just married in November. It makes me cry to think about how hard this must be for them.
Here is what she says:
"We are expecting identical twin boys! This is a huge blessing, but they also found that the babies have a rare condition called "acardiac twin", where one twin never developed a heart or much of any internal organs. He is much smaller than the healthy twin, and the doctors have given him no chance for survival. Because one baby has no heart, the healthy twin has to pump blood for himself and his brother, which is putting a lot of strain on his little heart. So much strain puts him at very very high risk for heart failure if we do nothing about the condition. So, we are now trying to figure out what we can do. Obviously, we can't harm one of them in order to save the other,even if he won't survive anyway, which is what the doctor we saw on Wednesday is advising us to do. But we don't
want to just sit back and let them both die, either. So we are trying to find some good pro-life doctors in our area who can give us good information and advice. In the meantime, we are asking for prayers, that we have the grace to accept God's will, and that He will help us find some good doctors to advise us well and tell us the truth."

Oh I am aching for them. I will pray for God's peaceful hand to rest upon them and the Doctors involved all while asking our Blessed Mother to hold them in her mantle while they are in the womb.

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING for my dear friend!
It seems that the heartless twin had in fact died already, though his tissue was still growing b/c of the blood being pumped through. They did some procedure with radio frequencies (?) to cauterize the connecting blood vessels. My friend is healing well and the surviving twin seems to be doing better.
She says:
"When we first found out, and didn't know anything or who to talk to, I was so backed into a corner and trapped and helpless. But we received so much grace through the prayers of our friends. It is sad that baby Gabriel died, and I will always miss him, but I am at peace knowing he is with God and I don't have to worry about him being hurt or suffering anymore."
