GODSEND!!!!!
She is a Christian (though not Catholic - I told her I'd pray for her  ). She is married, with kids the same ages as mine. She's been practicing Family Law for years and is well known and respected in her field. Pretty sure that would explain the cost  .
She has two sets of neighbors that homeschool, and her niece and nephew have been homeschooled all along - high school level now.
She just wrapped up a similar case - the custodial mom homeschools and the non-custodial dad wants the kids in "regular" school. She won.
She has working relationships with HSLDA attorneys and MACHE (Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators) directors.
I'm feeling downright GIDDY!!!!!!
We are not through the woods yet, but we are definitely making progress. We met with her for three hours yesterday, went through the original summons, drafted our response, signed and served the opposing attorney by 4 p.m. WHEW!
My attorney gave me an assignment this weekend of contacting people who have been involved with my son and myself and writing affidavits supporting our position. That's the hard part -- I have to get those done and in to her by Wednesday so she can have telephone conversations with the individual people before passing the affidavits to the other party by Friday. (Another reason to be very angry that the original attorney didn't do anything -- we should have had more time!  )
I want to thank ALL OF YOU for all of your prayers. THEY WORKED! 
I'm going to ask you to keep praying - for a speedy and satisfactory resolution to this -- and that the meeting with the surgeon on Tuesday goes well.
I'm so blessed to have all of YOU.
