Hi Friends!
I have two friends who live very nearby the Tennessee tornados. In fact, one lives right in the town where Union University is, and the other lives 2 miles from it. They are both homeschooling moms. My friend's friend's son, Matt was one of the students at Union University. He was almost killed in the tornado. He had his legs crushed in the rubble. He was there on a golf scholarship, but now needs prayer for healing. He is enduring so much right now because of his injuries, and so I told my friend I know some wonderful ladies who will pray, and whose prayers are very powerful! If you could pray for Matt, I know he, his family, my friend, and I would appreciate it SO very much. Here is some of the correspondance I've had with my friend, to give you some idea of Matt and his situation:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just found this and thought it was so awesome. Some of the students at Union University (the one that was soooo badly damaged in our town) and its amazing.
I also wanted to update you on Matt, who was the son of folks I grew up with. He is a sick young man, but is stable. He was crushed from the waist down in rubble. If two coke machines hadn't fallen over him, he'd have been crushed completely (that was the testimony of each person in the rubble....that something fell on top of them causing more rubble and debris from falling on them!). The fireman that found him only did so because Matt, that precious thing, was singing hymns and praying out loud! He was vomiting and aspirating on that vomit due to the crushing of his lower body and yet praying out loud (in the dark!) and singing praises to His God. I am absolutely weeping just typing that. Can you even imagine???? Anyway, his legs were so swollen they had to make incisions in them to allieviate some of the swelling. His kidney (one of them) had also shut down, and he is on dialysis temporarily at this point. He has had surgery and is stable, but is still very sick. I talked to his Dad today and he said to please keep praying, that they needed it so badly right now.
Isn't that just heart breaking. I have cried off and on all day since talking to him.
The fireman who rescued him just got to see him today. He was so exited and said he just had to see Matt and know he was okay. He said he just knew he was dead or near it when he found him.
And what she emailed me in reply to my reply:
He is still so not out of the woods. He had a bad day on Friday from what I understand and is still on dialysis and still has to have the open incisions on his legs for swelling and the best chance for healthy tissues forming. He is going through a lot!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you so much for praying for Matt.
Love,
Tracy

What an inspiration this young man is! I am so moved that he was praying and praising God when he was suffering so badly. I will keep Matt in my prayers. God is good.

Praying for Matt, his family and all the injured. What a testimony to his faith when he must have been so frightened! Please keep us updated with his condition. Can you assure his mom that many moms are praying for them?
