Please pray for me to say, "YES." I am having a very difficult time taking the leap to NFP, Billings or nothing. My husband and I are open to more children, we are just used to feeling like we have control as to when. This is so surprisingly difficult for me and honestly, I am embarrassed and overwhelmed with many emotions. Please pray for me and my husband. It is causing a lot of stress and guilt.
This was hard to write. Thank you for being here.

I don't think that your feelings are uncommon at all - especially if you've suffered through difficult pregnancies or deliveries! I must admit that I very much wrestled with similar feelings after I had 4 kids in less than 4 years!
Alot of times, the cause of our stress is a lack of sleep and proper nutrition and diet. Have you been getting enough sleep?
I will pray for you in your struggle. I just wanted you to know that your feelings are not uncommon.
God Bless you.

Praying for you! Similar things are being pondered here, and we've been all over the map since having kids. It's hard! I'm not a font of wisdom or anything but if you need someone to share your thoughts/feelings with privately, I'm all ears.

Jennifer,
This was/has been a struggle for us as well. We are always open to more children, but for some serious medical reasons must actively use NFP and prayerfully discern the "when" of it all. I know all about the emotional roller coaster and questions and second-guessing and the stress it brought for my dh and I. Just wanted you to know you're not alone! I'll be praying for your intentions!!!

Jennifer, to take on what we Christian women do is extremely difficult and not without struggle and temptation. The Lord knows us and understands. He does not expect us to be gods---we are weak needy humans. You are not alone or unusual! Openness to life in stressful circumstances is certainly heroic in these days, and God knows what we have against us. Don't despair!!!
God bless you for your courage and frankness!!!!

Thank you for all of your kind words, support and prayers. Still working on this, but it's comforting to know that I'm not alone!

Jennifer, you are in my prayers as well. As a convert, I struggled mightily with this very issue -- the core doctrinal things (Real Presence, Mary, saints, etc) were no-brainers to me, but giving up "control" was a VERY hard-won surrender.
