I want to thank you all for your prayers so far regarding my skin cancer removal and reconstruction. If I could beg a second of your time during this busy season...

I can't tell for sure, but I think one of the skin grafts (the smaller one of the two) has failed to "take" . The whole area is covered by steri-strips, so I can't see. I'll spare you the details.

I know God can work miracles, so I'm asking for one! Pray that this area will heal up quickly and well, and that I'll know if and when it's time to call the doc, and what to do when they say he's on vacation! (next week is Christmas and the week after he has a conference or something).

I still can't see under the steri-strips on one side, so it is hard to tell what is going on with the smaller graft. The bleeding stopped at least! I don't know if that is good or bad. With the larger graft, I waffle between thinking it is improving and thinking it is absolutely gross, LOL!   I figure I can wear a band aid for the rest of my life, no problem. I go back to the doc on the 10th so we'll see what he thinks then. My biggest worry are some new spots on my cheeks - I can't tell if it's a reaction to the bandaids or new cancers growing.

I'm so sorry to keep pestering everyone for prayers - but I'm either having an allergic reaction to the new dressings I'm using (I ran out of the ones they gave me this morning and so have been wearing a kind I got at the pharmacy since then - it starting itching a bit as soon as I put it on) or the site is getting infected. It's red and swollen and kind of itchy. I have dh on a search of the local 24 hour pharmacy to see if they have the original stuff behind the counter. Anyone have any Xeroform they care to overnight to me? (just kidding) I just hope he can find some -if it IS an allergic reaction then I don't want to make it worse by wearing the other dressing any longer than I must.

Why do these things always happen on the weekend?
