Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

After a very roller-coaster like week, which included finding that our potential renter was just a little too risky for our comfort, it seems that it is very likely that my dh will be having to go to Las Vegas initially by himself. While I have a few children who are very happy that they will continue to get to see their friends, I am one very stressed-out Mom. But it is all good, I know, and it will all work out the way it should (right????). It is hard to deal with the unknown, though!

I know this must sound completely ridiculous, especially to those whose husbands travel or are in the Military, but....in our entire marriage there has only been one time when he was gone for more than one night...and that was for a whopping TWO nights. The thought of days and days with him gone makes me almost paralyzed with sadness...(and I suffer from Anxiety Disorder anyway, and this is NOT helping...)

How do you do this?   How do I help the kids? Especially the youngest, as she is a total and absolute "Daddy's Little Girl type". She is his constant shadow.

I want to be all strong and composed and together, but honestly? I feel like stamping my feet and saying, "NO!"

Praying for you, Laura. When our oldest two children were babies, we lived in California and my husband had a job in Las Vegas. It was so hard. my heart goes out to you and you will be in my prayers this week.

Laura, you are doing just great under difficult circumstances. I know this is so hard yet each day you are gaining experience and you will become an old pro at your "new life." Praying for a smooth transition for all.

Love,
