She found a lump last week. Monday she had a biopsy. Tuesday we were told it is malignant.

She is having a lumpectomy today, at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Her husband, my sister and BIL, and DH and myself will all be there.

Well, her surgery went well. It took a little over two hours. The surgeon said the lump was a little over an inch in diameter. However, it had gotten into her lymph nodes, so he had to remove many of those, botht he ones that he could see "stuff" in and ones he couldn't see anything in. She had to remain in the hospital overnight because of the drain they put in. We will know Friday if there is cancer in the removed lymph nodes, and then treatment will start. He said definitely radiation, and possibly Chemo.

This is new to all of us. There has never been a hint of any type of Cancer in our family.

If any of you know of any good reference or resource sites or books I can get my hands on, please let me know.

Thank you for all the prayers. The outcome definitely could have been much worse.

I am so sorry. I will pray for your mother, you and your family. My dad battled non-Hodgkins 20 yrs ago. It was a scary time. I wish I knew some resources to send. Keep us posted.
