I know that there are so many more serious requests on here right now but if you would not mind sparing some prayers for us, we would SO appreciate it. Especially my dh who I know feels so much pressure.
He has been in the mortgage business which has taken a downward spiral for the last year or more and which seems to be coming to a close for him. He feels this is a blessing in disguise as he would like to get out of the "money" business as it so often seems so very ugly. He is in the beginning stages of discerning the diaconate and has asked God to get him out of this business if He wants him in the diaconate which seems to be the case at the moment (he has submitted his spiritual autobiography to the diocese and is awaiting their reply now).
But the problem comes from now needing to find a way to keep making money. He has several directions that he could possibly go in and we have been praying for guidance.
Over the past several years he has been consulting with police departments and public school systems (he used to be a school resource officer and now trains them) on an on again off again basis which has been a big help when times have been really tight. But it is never something we can depend on as it is not consistent.
But now there is a chance that it could become consistent as a large city has told him they are interested in having him do some long term work for them. This could go on for the next year. Right now he is preparing a presentation for them and it is very detailed and time consuming and it is not going as fast as he needs it to. He wanted to have it ready today but he says that to get it as good as he can, it may not be ready til next Monday.
He also was recently told about an executive director position that will be open in Dec with our local crisis pregnancy center. This is right up his alley...and he put in a resume last week and got a call last night from the chairman of the board of directors asking him to come in for an interview tomorrow evening. We don't know much at all about the job or whether it would be enough money. He applied without even having a ballpark figure of what the job pays, he just applied because it is something he would love to do.
The other thing that he would love to do is write books. He has written a novel (a great one at that ) and is now in the process of looking for an agent. He got an email from an agent today saying that she doesn't usually represent this type of book but that his premise sounds so amazing that she wants to take a look at it, so to please send his 1st 5 pages. Now he is worried that his first chapters are not strong enough and wants to work on them, but he has all this other equally important stuff going on all at the same time and requiring his attention (the presentation, the interview, and some other Dad and Church type responsibilities this week).
I know this probably seems confusing...and I don't know specifically what to ask prayer for...but I just know that we need prayer. Please know that I pray for all the 4Real intentions whether I get online or not! Thank you dear ladies!

Hollee, Sounds like he has a wide range of options, which is great! Praying that he finds a good fit that will support your family.

Thank you for your prayers. We could both feel them the evening of his interview with the CPC.
And we worked on those first 3 chapters until late last night and they were really super at the end! He sent them this morning and we are hoping she wants more! Even if it goes nowhere, it sure feels good to him to have someone asking to see more instead of sending rejection letters!
He does not think that he nailed the CPC interview. It seemed that not being an Evangelical was a big deal. If it weren't for that, he probably stood a good chance of getting it. But we will see in a few days I guess.
He is chugging along with his presentation and hoping that he will be done this week!
Thank you so much dear friends for your prayers!
