Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It looks as though the investors who have a contract on our house are trying to back out, or change the contract so that we will loose money.

Our house needs so much work and really is just a mess. That is why we went with the investor. Now we may end up having to sell it on the market (which is now in a slump) in less than a month.

Please, please pray for us. We are supposed to go on vacation tomorrow and I am in a panic. My 14 yr old son is not here to help me so I am surrounded by a bunch of non-helpers and I don't know where to start.

Oh Molly...I thought you were over the hump. A big hug to you and lots of prayers.

I'm looking at a mess of boxes and such all around completely overwhelmed (we moved in Saturday). I was crying to my mother, who was out of town. I'll pass on some of her advice: "You can eat an elephant only one bite at a time, so tackle the house just one "bite" at a time." I know that's not an original thought...

Write down what needs to be done and work on one bit at a time. Send the kids out or to bed....don't look at what needs to be done, but what you have done!

I'd say as long as the clutter is down and things look "tidy" (and smell clean) don't worry about the rest. St. Joseph will help you!

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh! So sorry to hear this, Molly. You poor thing! Sending a cyber-hug and will say prayers for sale to go through.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers! After several days of near-panic, my husband was able to convince the buyer to honor the legal contract that he had with us. We close tomorrow!

I believe that your prayers were heard and answered. Thank you so much.

Your post made me smile, Molly!
I'm excited for you. Wish I could be there to share the first cup of tea in your new home.

Okay, here we go again. I should change the prayer request from prayers for sale of house to prayers for finding a new house.

We were all set to close on our new home next week. Last week we had the home inspection and my husband decided to walk the property (10 acres) because we had not been back in the woods to see what it was like. He returned rather quickly saying that he came to a fence and a "no trespassing" sign. We realized that there was no way he had walked 8 acres or so.

Yesterday he went to the county courthouse to pull the land survey. Our 10 acres parcel is not what we thought we were getting. The house is situated on almost 2 acres, then the property goes down the road and down a long narrow section of land out to the main road. Everyone in the community has a sliver of land in this section. Apparently the purpose is to use that land for horses or 4-wheelers, neither of which we have.

Long story short, we backed out of the contract. We now have until Oct 7 to find a new home and be out of this one. And the owners of that property are threatening to sue.

So if you could keep our family in your prayers over the next few weeks we would be very grateful!

<Gulp!>
Will be praying, Molly. I was so looking forward to sharing your home-moving adventure with you.

The saga continues...
