I received this from a friend of mine. Please add this dear couple and their wee Patrickto your prayers. So scary and sad,
A little over a year ago, I had requested prayers for my niece, Allison, who was having difficulty carrying her unborn child, Madeline to term. Little Madeline was born prematurely and lived for a few hours. In December of last year, Allison became pregnant again. Allison & Jeremy are having a little boy whom they have named Patrick. To date, he has been a very active baby in-utero! Since Allison is at high risk due to the early pregnancy following Madeline's birth, a C-Section was scheduled for this coming Monday - at 37 weeks gestation (to prevent Allison's uterus from rupturing). Today, testing was done on Patrick to determine his lung capacity. It should normally test at 86% for his gestational development. It tested at 2%, which is obviously too low for survival. Additional testing is being done to confirm these results. My sister, Sue explained that the only things that can be done are: 1) wait another week for more lung development & 2) give Allison steroids 24 hours prior to Patrick's birth to further develop his lungs. Sue has conveyed the situation as grave at this point. I was called & specifically asked to have you pray for Allison & Patrick during this very challenging & life-threatening time. Please pass this on for others to pray for them as well. May we, in addition to our Blessed Mother and the Saints intercede on their behalf.

Here is the update I received. Many thanks for all the prayers.
THANK YOU FOR PRAYERS!!
Glory to God & His goodness!! I just spoke to my sister this evening for an update - especially regarding Patrick's current condition. Excellent news!! The next test results showed Patrick's lungs able to withstand delivery (a phenomenal turnaround), so he was delivered by C-section yesterday & monitored closely for any respiratory distress. Born at 37 weeks gestation, he weighs 6 lbs. 7 oz. and is 20 inches long! Not only is he breathing on his own, but Patrick's doing so well that he will be discharged tomorrow with Allison! Allison, her husband Jeremy, my sister Sue and I extend our deep gratitude to you for your intercessory prayers (along with the intercession of our Blessed Mother & the saints). They are very thankful as well for the supportive words sent to them. In Christ's Love, Cheryl

Oh that's such WONDERFUL news. I missed the original post, but I'm so blessed to read this!
I don't know if you have a copy of this for little Patrick, but I thought I'd copy it here for you, just in case. I think it's very appropriate to such an extraordianry little boy!
St. Patrick's Breastplate
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through the belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness
Of the Creator of Creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth with his baptism,
Through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial,
Through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension,
Through the strength of his descent for the judgment of Doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of Cherubim,
In obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In prayers of patriarchs,
In predictions of prophets,
In preaching of apostles,
In faith of confessors,
In innocence of holy virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven:
Light of sun,
Radiance of moon,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of wind,
Depth of sea,
Stability of earth,
Firmness of rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me:
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptations of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
Afar and anear,
Alone and in multitude.
I summon today all these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel merciless power that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.
Christ to shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me abundance of reward.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness,
Of the Creator of Creation.

Just received this update from my friend. These poor dear people, please send up Aves for them. TIA
In an unexpected turn of events, my niece Allison's newborn baby, Patrick has been unofficially diagnosed with pneumonia and it's being treated as such. He began to have respiratory distress yesterday & was put on oxygen. He has lost 5 oz. (a lot for a newborn) and is being fed through a feeding tube. My sister, Sue - a nurse - said his condition is listed as stable, but tentative. They are waiting for the blood culture results to confirm the pneumonia or determine any other infection he may have. Please continue to pray for this young family
