Diane, you are something else. Thank you from the bottom of this 61-year-old's heart.

And to the rest of you ladies, I have put your prayers & well wishes to good use today. I am the proud stepmother of a brand new Golden Retriever puppy (thank you again, Paula!) and while I find her to be soft & sweet & very cute, I do find it...well...slightly jarring the way she thinks nothing of leaving those unsightly piles and puddles on my kitchen floor. Indeed, I find that I have strong visceral reactions to her leaving these "presents" for us to tend to, and I may have even (though I admit to NOTHING) raised my voice on a few occasions.

So. As I was saying, your prayers are very welcome on this day.

Ooooh a puppy! She sounds like she's going to keep you busy for a little while.      All I can say is...crate trainig is wonderful! We only had one accident on the floor and ours is now 16 months.

I simply have to hijack this thread and send it veering down a different path. Only one accident, Michaela?!! We're trying to crate train our puppy but I do NOT think I'm doing it right.

Seriously. Every time I turn around there's a puddle. Or the kids will stand outside with her for 20 minutes and then, five minutes after they bring her in, she gives me a look and goes poop on the floor.

Any advice? I'm going to a puppy obedience class on Friday evening but that's three days away!
