Please join me in Prayer to the Holy Spirit that He will use my voice to teach what He wills today.
I am presenting the persecuted Church during the rise of Islam, which will also include Icons as our art study.
Many of these moms are Ana Baptist, and their "history" begins very recently.
My classroom decorated with 17 Icons and all sorts of seemingly "Catholic" props might stir things up a bit.

This is the group that visited the www.communityofstjohn.com
monastery last week. I am still fielding good questions from that experience!

It went so well! thank you all for the prayers. I was able to round up enough Icons to totally walk through the life of Christ, from Annunciation to Ascencion, and we had great dialogue about how they can really be a "window to heaven" reminding us as to what path we should be on, and also that they are reminders as to who our family is and to whom we belong to!
the kids made a dinah zike style pages re: icons and my raised Catholic friend now not practicing led the kids in a decoupauge style craft with wood and icon images.
Stayed 30 min late to answer questions.
It was a very nice day. thanks again!
