My "little" sister (ok, she IS 18) is leaving tomorrow for her freshman year of college. She'll be over 1000 miles away. Right now she lives 2 houses away. We are almost 15 years age difference and I sometimes feel like she's one of my own children. I'm going to miss her terribly 
Please offer prayers for her to adjust well and be safe (in all senses) while away. If you have a moment, please also pray that I get through the leaving part of things gracefully. I cry just thinking about it.

She left this morning
Thanks for the prayers. I'm handling it OK, but it is tough. I miss her already. When she said goodbye to the kids last night, it was a heartbreaker for all of us. It was VERY difficult for her as my kids are like her own little siblings; we are so close.

Oh Christine, how bittersweet. I'm right there with you. My sister is 8 years my junior and I so remember each and everyone of our "leavings." Right now she lives in NC and I'm in AZ and we still hope to live close to each other some day. I'm praying for you and your sister and you transition into a new phase of your beautiful relationship.
