My mom who's 70 had a mild heart attack this morning. They're doing a cardiac catheterization in the morning at 7:30 Missouri time to see what needs to be done. Please pray for her and my dad. Thanks & God bless.

Mom update -- great news!!! The cardiac catheterization went very well, my mom was awake the whole time and watched it being performed. She said it looked like someone sending up some wires to dust the pipes under a sink . Bottom line, the doctor said that it was so mild it probably wouldn't even qualify as a real heart attack. Needless to say, we are all relieved and can breathe again (sigh). My mom's been very careful with her diet and her exercise esp. the last 7-8 years so hopefully she'll be back to her healthy old self soon. Thank you so much for your prayers. My dad handled it quite well, and even at the hospital was joking around and laughing, though of course I worry about him bottling things inside -- but he's also a very prayerful guy who trusts the Lord in everything and his attitude always is that sickness is just one of those things that is bound to happen at *some* point, that it's part of us being human and that we're "all going there" one day....
We really appreciate all your prayers and concern. Thank you so much and God bless,
stef

Wow, Stef, your mother is a rock--I can't even imagine watching that kind of surgery as it takes place! I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled, to read this news.

You're mother's description cracks me up! Only a woman would think that! And frankly, not too many men could watch either, I'll bet. Glad to hear it's going so well.!

she was amazingly strong through this one. i found out last night that they did put a stent in -- either that or she would need a bypass. so now she's a bit worried about potential adverse side effects -- she feels she didn't have that much time to evaluate the information before they made the decision. but people have told her (including my uncle who has undergone a bypass) that she made the right choice. so we're just praying that everything will turn out alright. thank you all again for your prayers. my mom (and the whole family) would like to convey her deep appreciation as well.
take care and God bless,
stef

Wow, a stent. It is a difficult situation when you're posed with a surgery and no time to get a second opinion. We'll keep praying that a stent was all that she needs!
