I have been in agony about this whole subject,to the point of it swallowing me up, but after reading "This is the Faith" I just really feel I have no choice but to convert.
I don't "want" to - it may divide my family, it will confuse our son, it will distress my husband (because he still feels inceasingly confirmed in being an Anglo-catholic priest) - and I can't seem to find a priest to be helpful, fatherly and orthodox in his belief - but I just don't see any way to escape the conclusion that it is right.
Please pray? Especially that there would be peace in our marriage (this will be the first time we have been divided spiritually and will cut deep to dh because of the whole anglican ordination issue) and that our child/ren could be brought up in the church and not be confused if there is division and their daddy does not also convert. At one time, last week, it seemed very likely that he would convert - now it seems very unlikely.

Praying, Lucy. I will ask on the UK Catholic homeschooling list for recommendations for a priest in your area that you could speak to.

Praying and offering up my 12 hour car trip today. In fact I'm going for my nephew's baptism so it seems rather the perfect journey to offer up for you family.

I am praying that you will have peace in your family and that each one of you will be able to love the Lord in the way they have been shown. I have an Anglican friend who always says that she believes that God responds to anyone who acknowledes their Creator and truly worships and praises Him. I to am coming to see things this way and it has helped me be a better Christian around others who have different beliefs. The Catholics in my region are much more narrow minded so I did not have much encouragement in growing this way. I pray that whatever choices your family members make, that you will each have a deep and beautiful relationship with God. Having seen so many beautiful examples of mixed religion families of spritually alive people who are faithful to God in their own chosen way, I think they are blessed with something special.

Lucy, praying for you and your entire family. Have you found any support on the "coming home" website/network. They are amazing and I think I told you, have helped two former Anglican Priests with families find jobs within our Diocese alone. They are a support for the entire family.
Peace of Christ, and as a convert, I would like to extend a big hug and welcome...

Praying Lucy.
I am totally biased -- having been brought up an Anglo-Catholic, then dabbled in evangelicalism as a young adult, then finally became Catholic in 1995. I grieve for all the difficulties you are facing. But I am so happy that you feel called to become Catholic! It is the best thing that ever happened to me! (Well, apart from the grace of my baptism, my marriage to dh, the children -- which are all, actually, part of it!)

Praying for you and your family. I hope that in some small way you will recieve peace in knowing you are doing God's will. As the saying goes, "it is always darkest before the dawn." God will take your suffering and turn it into joy. Our Lord is never outdone in generosity. Christ's peace be with you.

Chidren have understanding which we adults forget we had. I am sure that if both you and your dh sincerely respect each others convictions and also be totally free to worship in your respective ways and let your blessed children experience the diversity of Christianity, you will be strong examples of living faith, love and tolerance for them.
May your precious family be blessed with Christ's peace.
