Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Our friend David called yesterday. He is active duty Navy and has suffered through almost a year of severe vertigo and nausea with no diagnosis (mainly, I feel, due to the lack of specialist appointments at the Naval Hospital where he lives). Now he has a treatment (meds, playing ping pong, playing badminton) but no real diagnosis. They're basically trying to "reset" his inner ear/brain coordination.

Please pray for him. He has 6 children, a lovely wife, and no military career if this can't get cleared up in six months or less. He's been in the Navy a long time, but not long enough to retire, so this is a serious issue.

Thank you!

Update August 1:

David has asked the Navy to transfer him to Maryland, where he'd be able to see the world's leading specialist on his condition for treatment. There are Navy jobs here in MD. His family really wants to move here, too.

Please pray that, if it's God's will, he'll be able to move here and get the treatment he needs.

David says, "Thank you!" for your prayers.

Update #2. Please storm Heaven. All the required things have been completed for a transfer to MD (Ft. Meade even has a house for him!) BUT the detailer won't write him orders, and without them he can't move. Period. The docs up here think they can help him, but he needs to live up here to enroll in their treatment program. I am frustrated...he's got tons of valuable Navy training (certified linguist in a high-demand language, etc.) and I can't figure out why the one person who can preserve all that training and experience...won't. I really, really appreciate your prayers...thanks.
