Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I can't believe I haven't brought this concern to this wonderful forum, as it has been weighing on my heart for a while, although it is minor: I have had this this "spot" on my nose that hasn't healed for many months, and by it's symptoms I think it is probably some kind of non-malignant skin cancer (I won't go into the gory details
). I can't get an appointment with a dermatologist until after the baby is born due to long waiting lists.

I would covet your prayers for total healing prior to my doctors visit (I have visions of them needing to take lots of skin from my nose and I don't ever heal all that well - yes my concerns are very vain, but it is right in the center of my face ). Barring that, I ask for prayers for no more spread during the time I'm waiting for my appointment in Oct. and a good cosmetic outcome when I get treatment -- or the grace to accept whatever happens!

One other small thing - I have had a intermittent but hacking cough for the past few weeks that nothing seems to get rid of - no other symptoms (my 2yo also has something similar). I'm asking for prayer because my dh is concerned that all this coughing will make things "progress" too soon in the labor department, because of all the tensing and bearing down I'm doing while coughing. Part of me just at that, and part of me thinks he may be right! I have always started thinning/effacing on the early side (starting at 32 weeks or so) but I'm only 30 weeks now - a little too early.

Thank you for your prayers (and reading my always too wordy posts, LOL)

Amy, your intentions are in my prayers. Have you asked the doctor about the cough? Could it be an allergic reaction or maybe lack of humidty?

I have an OB visit on Thursday where I'll bring it up - but I really think it is just a pesky virus because my 2yo started with the same thing about 5-7 days before I did, then I started, now my 9yo and dh are starting. It's strange though, other than chest congestion/cough, we all feel fine - no lethargy, no fever, no runny nose, etc. Which of course I am QUITE thankful about!

Thank you everyone for your prayers.

Bumping this up to selfishly ask for more prayers - I think I have "recaught" the cough/cold virus because while it never really left it had been improving, and now it is bad again. The coughing has caused me to strain a muscle near the round ligament in my side, and each cough is a lesson in offering things up for the Poor Souls in Purgatory! My asthmatic 4yo seems to be beginning a struggle with it today as well.

I've been trying so hard lately to attempt to be a more happy, loving, responsive, fun mom, and this cross is making it difficult! All I want to do is crawl back into bed.

Thank you for your prayers for us.

PRaying, Amy.   I would ask the OB what to do about the cough -- and ask DH what he thinks you ought to do, too, since sometimes that perspective is valuable.

I did - she said Robitussin was all, warm compresses for my side. They aren't helping *insert dramatic crying icon here, LOL*   I've always been resistant to all but the strongest cough medicines (think strong narcotics - not even cough med/codine works!) for some reason.    I'm trying to remember to drink more water (nothing like every 10 minute bathroom visits ) and am taking vitamin C, but am afraid to take *too much*.   Dh just agrees with what I'm trying. Hopefully I'll just fight it off with all your prayers, and soon! I would love for us all to be healthy when this new baby makes his entrance in 3-5 weeks!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers, from everyone.
