Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here are a few prayer requests for our Archdiocese.

1. For the success of the Military Seminarian program. At present priests are loaned to us by their bishops. We are trying to start a program where we would pay for seminarians to trained in a civilian diocese at our expense. They would serve in the military until retirement and then go back to the diocese where they were trained to serve. Wouldn't that be great for everyone?

2. Continuing prayers for the repose of the soul of Bishop Kaising who was an auxillary bishop for the military archdiocese.

3. Prayers for Archbishop O'Brien who is going to Baltimore!

4. Prayers that Rome will send us some new bishops soon!

Thanks!

Praying...I'm in the Archdiocese of Baltimore but we've been in the Military Archdiocese a couple of times...

The seminarian program is a great idea. More than once I've seen young men who were called to the priesthood be denied the chance to serve our military members because their diocese wouldn't release them. Our military members REALLY need more Catholic chaplains. Currently, Navy chaplains serve several ships at once (yes, that means Catholics on board only get Mass a couple of times a month while at sea, and access to other sacraments even less often). They fly from ship to ship by helicopter, and it's a challenging life.

Prayers forthcoming!

I'll be praying, too. My former pastor was a Military Chaplain. He loved it, but was recalled by the Archbishop. It was something that weighed on him for many years.
