He has brain cancer. It was first diagnosed 9 years ago, there was surgery, then endless radiation, and then 8 years of quiet. All of this happened for my brother at a very young age, he was only 21 when this first happened. 1 year ago, after a routine MRI, another tumor was discovered. There has been more surgery, chemo this time, and now we wait...It has been 6 months since the last round of chemo, doctors are unsure of how to proceed since Chris' cancer is quite rare, and Chris is in general fairly healthy.

Chris has an MRI this Thursday, and will hear results on Friday. He is quite rattled, and is fairly pessimistic about the results. My mom is also very nervous! She can't even make plans to go grocery shopping next week until she knows what the results are - she is gripped with fear. I'm not even sure what to ask for beyond peace, except to say that Our Lady knows what they need so I'll let her take care of dispensing the mercy. God's will be done here. I just got a call from Chris and my mom. All is well, his scan was clear. Thanks be to God! His oncologist even told Chris that he could stretch to being checked again in another 4 months. Thank you all for your prayers so much, I felt them! Mom and Chris also mentioned feeling a sense of peace the last couple of days. Many prayers of thanksgiving to God!

We will pray. My dh's sister had brain cancer so we understand the fear and worry which can grip a family. Will offer up many prayers.

Jennifer, I will pray for your brother, your mom and all of you. My brother has Stage 4 Melanoma and while the news has been mostly good the last couple of years, I know the anxiety with each new round of tests.

Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue so that he can get through this day - I am not sure if he has to have a spinal tap too, but those are usually standard drill as well as the MRI. He's been suffering from a botched tap for almost a year now. I'll update tomorrow after I hear the results. Thank you all so much for praying for him and for my family! Know that you all are in our prayers.
