My little 2 year old, Michael fell heavily on his right arm from the lounge this afternoon. He was crying and inconsolable.
We took him to emergency and they have found that he has a compound fracture just above the elbow. He doesn't need surgery, thankfully. He needed a morphine shot in the end as he was crying and screaming.
I am wiped out from stress, sorrow and the physical rigours of the afternoon and early evening and I am very, very tired.
I would very much appreciate prayers for this poor little fellow, that he has a peaceful night. That he heals quickly.
His morphine shot wears off soon and then he will go to 'Painstop' with coedine in it. I am hoping this transition will be ok and there will be no serious breakthrough pain.
Thank you in advance, once again it is so reasurring to have friends praying when you are sleeping through the night and not able to pray.

Just on 6am here now. Thank you so much for the prayers overnight! 
Michael was not too bad for the first night. He woke intermittently and cried for a while and he definately needed his Painstop when they were due. But I honestly had visions of him not sleeping at all and possibly being very distressed once the morphine wore off but it wasn't like that, thankfully.
Phil and I juggled the care between the two of us and so I did get the sleep I needed, just a 'band around the head' headache today.
Michael is resting gently in his big brother's arms and is just a little fractious from time to time, we have a movie on for him and it seems a pleasant distraction.
If the truth be known there is a bit of 'déjà vu' in the stress of all of this. I was pregnant with Joseph when my little Angela (same age as Michael then) smashed her elbow with a green stick break. She was horribly mismanaged at the local public hospital and her arm was not set correctly. We did not go to the public hospital with Michael but went to a private emergency this time.
We are grateful for small mercies though, this was not that experience all over again by a long shot but as many of you mums know, sadly, better than me, that it is very hard to see your children suffer, so thank you for your kind prayers and thoughts.

I'm so sorry! That is so young to have such a huge boo-boo! They just can't understand all that needs to be done to them at that age-makes it much harder. On the up side, he'll probably be running around happy as can be in no time at all! Praying for lots of healing sleep for all of you, and a speedy recovery for Michael.
