My son just called from Iraq and a solider died from his platoon yesterday. He and the solider was just on guard duty together two nights ago. And last night this solider was out on patrol and was hit by an IAD. The solider died and 3 others injured. My son is very upset, their company was suppose to come home in June but now they will not leave until December. He worries so about his wife and 18 mo old son. I try to assure him we will be here for them if anything happens but it isn't the same! Please pray for his safety (as well as all soliders) and for peace. He was home at Easter and got to receive the sacraments but that was the first time in 8 months, there is no priest available for them so he is on his own so to speak. Sorry this post is a little messy I am just hurting for him so much and when I think of that family.  This solider just turned 19!

Oh, Jackie, what a heartache. Praying for everyone. Please let your son know of our gratitude for his service, and all his family for their sacrifices.

Oh, My heart goes out to you and your son. and all the men and women in his company.
It is so hard when you can't be there to take him in your arms and reassure him.

Also, do you know about CatholicMil.org? You can go there and request free Catholic care packages to be sent to soldiers. Also there is a lot of support for the soldiers there on the website.

Praying as always Jackie for all our troops. I will also pray for peace for your son.
A couple of days ago a young man from our city(in the same division as my son) died over there. I haven't heard from my son in a while so I don't know if he knew him.
