Elizabeth, I am saying a novena to Our Lady of the Visitation and you are in my intentions!
I have a trip to make too -- in my case, without nursing toddler. My father is undergoing chemo for his lymphoma and I'm flying up to Alaska to see him and my Mom for a few days. Haven't been up there for 13 years and haven't been away from the family EVER except for hospital stays.
I would like to request prayers for my 2.5 year old's physical and emotional security while I'm gone (he's in good hands with his Dad and lots of older siblings, but I am a MOM and somehow feel he needs ME to keep him safe). Trips away from him are past my comfort zone but it wouldn't work out to bring him with me, for several reasons.
Also, please pray for my dad's health, both physical and spiritual. He's a Christian and a good one who has lived by his faith, but not a Catholic. I am saying many Rosaries for him.
I'm leaving Thursday and coming back on Independence Day. ... I'll miss you all, unless I get to check in on my parents' computer.

Willa, my dad starts treatment for his recurrence of lymphoma on Tuesday, so I will keep your dad in my prayers as I pray for my own father. I also pray you have a safe trip and that everyone at home does well until you return .

Willa, we'll keep him and you in our prayers. My dad just underwent an adult stem cell transplant (from an adult donor) last December for a recurrence of Non-hodgkins lymphoma. So far he's doing well. We'll be praying for your family.

BTW Elizabeth, I didn't see your prayer request until THIS week and thought it was for this weekend -- started praying for you -- and then didn't notice your update until after I had posted! I just figured it out. I guess I'm tired even before two red-eye flights! Oh well, surely God can make prayers work retroactively, or they can apply to some other travelling situation since your family abounds in them ..... and I often think of you in the Visitation mystery, anyway

I'll be praying for a safe trip, dad's healing and comfort and your toddler....oh how hard it is to leave them at that age. Mary will take care of everything.

Prayers for everyone involved, Willa. I'll ask Dave to hold your dad in special prayer via their Public Health Service connection.
We'll miss you, too.
Love,

We're praying too, Willa (for you, your little one, and your father)! I can relate to the difficulty in leaving your little one. It would be hard for me too.

Willa, saying prayers this minute. May the Archangels travel with you and extra angels stay in your home. St. Augustine and St. Monica intercede for your father.

I made it back safely, the "babies" are safe and well and were thriving in the care of their big sister Clare (plus their dad and brothers!)
I had a very good visit with my parents. My father is very weak from chemo but mentally and emotionally in good shape. Thank you for the prayers. They made a big difference to my state of mind at the very least!
