Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dh called his mom and discovered that my SIL (the one with health problems and a theoretically imminent divorce) decided to take herself off her anti-panic meds.      She wound up with a full-scale, all-out panic attack. She had to be sedated for 2 days, during which her (ex?) husband had to come over to care for the girls.

Ack.

I am very familiar with the "I am fine, don't need those mental illness meds" syndrome...but it's really hard to watch family members go through cycle after cycle of this. SIL and her husband aren't getting along on any level and really need legal attention. This just makes it worse.

Please, please implore St. Dymphna to pray for SIL and her husband (he has panic attacks as well). I just cannot imagine how my nieces are coping. They probably aren't. It occurred to me today that my oldest niece (14) probably has never had the chance to earn money babysitting or pet sitting because she's so needed at home.

Please toss in a prayer for my dear, wonderful mother-in-law, who answers all the 2 A. M. phone calls, has friends drive her up to babysit her granddaughters, and generally bears more of this burden than she probably should.

Thanks, once again, and please know that I read your intentions every day and hold them close to my heart in prayer and reflection.

Your mil does sound like a solid rock of support, I will say a prayer for this whole situation.

What a difficult situation for those directly living it, as well as for those who must helplessly watch it happen. I'm so sorry for all of it. Praying for God's guidance and protection for all.

Peace,
Nancy

What Nancy said. I'm praying here, as well.

Thanks so much for your prayers...please add s-i-l job search prayers if you have time. I just finished editing her résumé, so I assume that means she's finally decided to leave her toxic job.
