I just found out that my last living grandparent, Grandma Lil, was hospitalized. They don't know what the cause of her symptoms are, but she was brought in because of some numbness and inability to say what she is thinking.

Gram is in PA, making this difficult for me. We are very close, in an interesting way. She is quite a character! She is a giant ball of energy, and they say that I got my gift of the gab from her . She has quite an optimistic streak and is keeping her sense of humor through this. She has been warning us of her pending death since my teens, which has produced the family joke "Lil is going to outlive all of us!" Yet, the truth is, she is in her late 80's...

Thanks for praying for my Gram. If you have a chance, please post here that you are praying because I want to copy each and every reply into a spiritual bouquet for her. She loves attention and prayers and will REALLY appreciate knowing that lots of people are praying for her at this time. Also, please include any intentions that you would like her to pray for...she will do so gladly. It must be so hard for her to have to be still at the hospital...she is a total doer, mover, and shaker!

For those inclined, our family is praying Nine Prayer to St. Dymphna, one each day, as a novena for my Gram. St. Dymphna is the patron saint of those with disorders of the nervous system.

And since you asked for intentions too, I will ask Gram to pray for *my* Gram (Mama), who is 90 and cares for her son (my uncle) who is in the advanced stages of Multiple Sclerosis. They have had some unexpected difficulties with their help and so more work than usual is falling to my mother and Mama. I am joining in the novena, and think it most appropriate for my uncle too! So thank you so much for posting!
