I wasn't sure whether to put this here or on Good Remedy. Truth is, my heads hurts so badly I can't think that through. Please pray.
I know I've got a lingering virus from last week (and it seems like it's threatening to become a breast infection) but as of yesterday, I have a new migraine too.
Tried the 4 advil, caffeine, and heat cure--made me this time.
I'm trying to figure out triggers. I think yeast is one. But I haven't had any of that. Now, I'm thinking chocolate (which would explain all the post-holiday migraines--the last one was right after my birthday). If you know something about migraine triggers, feel free to let me know.

I'm praying for your healing, Elizabeth.
For your possible breast infection, do you have Homeopathic Phytolacca decandra around? Start taking it if you do. That staves off the infection for me.
Are your cycles returning? Some women experience migraines as the cycles try to return.
My experience has been I can have things at different times, but when my immune system has been pummeled (allergies, sickness, tiredness) and/or PMS, just one little thing can trigger the migraine. Red wine, bright light, I think chocolate one or two times, too. It's kind of unpredictable.
But you need to go lie down and rest.

I'm so sorry. Yes, chocolate is a big trigger. Nitrates. Yellow cheese. I think hormones play a big part too.

Oh Elizabeth, I'll pray that you get the rest that you need to make it all go away. I don't know anything about migraines... just that they sound awful.

prayers for you!!!! Migraines are horrible. I get them from weather changes and hormone changes in my cycles.
If a weather front moves in and I get a migraine sometimes taking a decongestant like sudafed helps along with the other pain meds.

Oh, yes, weather changes...good suggestion about decongestant. Are there safe ones for nursing?
Do you have any pollen allergies? I have all these Easter flowers that are aggravating our allergies and giving me headaches...but not a migraine.

The few I've had have been triggered by bright light (Pentagon City and WalMart are no fun when your head is about to explode) and -- I think -- hormones. If possible, lie down and rest in a cool, dark room, and drink lots of water. Will be praying for relief for you.

I am a longtime migraine sufferer. Triggers include anything that might taste good to eat- cheese, chocolate, citrus fruit, nitrates (like in a prepared ham or deli meat), or wine. When I get a migraine, it's usually a virus starting or ending or some hormone issue- low progesterone or a hormone shift of some kind. Excedrin can help, but I wouldn't take it if I already had caffeine and advil in my system. I use to use a nice hot water bottle on my head during pregnancy, but realized when I removed the heat source the pain was worse than before. I tried a cold compress with much more success. It feels uncomfortable to the skin but really helps your veins and arteries to contract, which is what you need. I agree that medicine alone won't cure it, you need a good long rest. Praying for you today!

Alrighty then, the smoked turkey sent by Aunt Diane, the Easter chocolate, the virus, and the massive doses of Emergen-C(and no magnesium), along with the fact that my husband was gone all of Holy Week and didn't arrive home until 8 o'clock Easter morning...that just might have done it!

Elizabeth, I will be praying for you. Two weeks ago, I had two migraines within two days. They lasted almost a week. I was fit to be tied by the 5th day. I have been having migraines since I was 10 yrs. old and I am still not sure about my triggers. Within the last 8 yrs.(with approaching and entering my 40's) I think my triggers are more hormonal. Now, though, I am wondering if they are seasonal because I just seem to get them now in clusters during the spring and summer. For some people it is really easy to find triggers. For others it is more difficult. If you think chocolate is a trigger, then I would abstain from it and see if that ceases the onset of migraines.
Blessings
Julia

Praying, Elizabeth. I just had a couple of doozies (regular headaches, I could still funciton through them) which I'm pretty sure were caused by caffeine withdrawal. I'm a weekend coffee warrior. Hoping you can pinpoint a cause and heal quickly.
God bless,

Elizabeth, could it be the weather? My head's been hurting for 2 days now....
Just a thought.
And how are you doing now. And have you gotten more rest, "caught up" as they say?

Oh, Elizabeth. I'm so sorry. I know all about migranes I will be praying for you.
I second the Phytolacca for the breast infection. Lots and lots of water also.
God bless you. I'll pray for a peaceful night.

Praying for you, Elizabeth. I have always taken 2 Excedrin Migraine, and laid down with a COLD washcloth over my eyes. A few hours later I'm good as new.

This is what my dh does minus the washcloth. Takes him more than a few hours though. I'm praying Elizabeth. Wish I had answers...
God bless,

I feel much better tonight. Thanks so much!
I've been carrying the phytolacca around all day and it still doesn't feel quite right, but I'm going to tuck myself in next to my sweet babe and nurse and nurse and nurse...

I get migraines that are most certainly triggered by hormones. If I don't get enough rest or have too much stress I also get one. Malls, whether it is the lighting or the noise and stress sometime effect me.
Twice, I have ended up in the hospital with a migraine. They have given me Imitrex and Demerol. That really sent me for a loop. My head-ache went away but I spent two days sleeping with a 'hangover'
Elizabeth, I will keep you in my prayers that this will go away quickly.

Ugh, Elizabeth! I'm so, sooo sorry. Migraines are horrible. I am glad that you are feeling better and hope that it doesn't pick up speed in the morning. You are in my prayers.
