Among all of the more serious requests, I have a little one to add, less serious, please.
My oldest son left very early this morning for a week long trip to Yosemite.
It is a great opportunity. A CA foundation gives 140ish scholarships for High School kids to go. While it is fun and exciting, it is also hard, as they hike up to 5 miles a day, regardless of rain, snow or sun. We do not have any contact with them, except for emergencies.......it is kind of hard to just give your kid up, and trust, hoping he makes it home safely on that bus Friday night.
Please pray for his safety, of body and soul. Especially pray for his purity of heart, that it not be harmed by being out in the world, if you know what I mean.
It looks like a strict camp, and they probably FALL into bed every night. They minimize mischief, and punish for it.
Also, three smaller requests to tag on:
1. Anne, my oldest asked for prayers as she feels a sore throat coming on..........and she has to sing constantly til May 22nd! Last winter, she had to lip sync her concert it was so distressing, and lasted for weeks.
2. I am back-up for work tomorrow, and I feel something coming on in MY throat......I really want to be available, as there is no one else.....I do NOT want to have to call in sick. Plus, like I can really afford to be ill right now
and 3. related to the last, there is an induction tomorrow at work, for a 33 week fetal demise ....please pray for the lady and her family. I hope it is not one of my clients or acquaintances (it is a small town and we often know folks)
Easter blessings and prayers for all,

Thank you so much for your prayers, Ladies! You are always so kind.
Well, I ended up needing to call in sick at 2am......but two doses of a homeopathic seems to be almost curing the sore throat, yay.......now to cure the fogginess Hopefully I will be well enough to work in the morning.
You are very sweet, Donna.....it turns out, my friend did indeed inform me of an induction today, on a person with a 33 week fetal demise, but she did not make it clear that the demise was in the past, this lady's first baby. So, I am sure the prayers are still necessary and welcome, as she and her husband welcome their first live baby. What joy they will know. I am glad to know. I had been thinking that it has been a long time since we have had a fetal demise here, and now I am glad that the unhappy circumstance will be yet delayed a bit longer.
(can you tell I have been reading Jane Austen today? )
As for Matthew, more happy circumstances! They actually have a very old telephone in use for the kids to use with their calling cards......so, I had no sooner written this prayer request than the phone rang. His siblings were so eager to talk with him......it was so sweet. He probably has the sweetest disposition in the family. It was a safe ride, and he states, as usual, he is befriending the chaperones, more than the kids his age. Anne said that what made him fit in at TAC for his visit last month with Willa's daughter, is what makes him not fit in here ......I think that is a good thing, don't you?
Thank you for your prayers.........they got him the best cabin and only two roommates who are probably not going to be much of an issue. He DID say there were three teenage girls on the bus who made him "so annoyed" with their chatter the whole day.
Oh, and this is funny, as they were driving into Yosemite, everyone on the bus was oohing and ahhing at the sites as they came around every corner, running from one side of the bus to the other. They kept saying, what's that? And I guess Matthew kept saying, oh, that's El Capitan, that's Yosemite Falls, that's Half Dome.....before someone said: Do you know EVERYTHING here?? ...traveling with the kids pays off somehow , oh, and all of the books he read about Yosemite before he went ....living education, right?
Jennie Lou! Welcome to the boards! Thank you so much for your kind offer....praying, of course that I do not need your services! I have read some of your articles in the past............don't know where, but your name always stuck with me You and Willa are on opposite sides of Yosemite (but still on the eastern side of the Sierras). Congratulations on your adoptions! I guess this means you still cannot go camping with us this year at our campout? My friend ShawnaB on this list has a dear friend who just left last week for Liberia to pick up their three new children. Please pray it all goes well. Will keep your adoption in our prayers, too.
I am so to say that I have no idea how Anne is feeling. But, she seemed okay and made not one complaint this morning......but, that does not mean Anne feels fine, if you know her. But I was thinking it over, between a college musical, and two concert choirs, and her voice classes, she probably does needs to sing every day until mid-May. Sheesh, that is a lot of singing!
Laureen, my dear sweet friend, so nice to see you here. Looking forward to seeing you IRL soon!
One more prayer request: I just found out yesterday after Mass that my sil's father is in the hospital, and only healing slowly. Please pray for him, esp spiritually. Thanks!
I am obviously not too foggy to write, just to be upright.....so, back to the couch I go
Continued Easter blessings!

Okay, ladies, the 140-plus kids are on their way home from Yosemite tomorrow. We pick up Matthew about 8pm PST. Please pray that all arrive home safely. We got to talk to him 50% of the days........better than the 0% we expected!
Also, Anne says her throat is almost better. Keep praying, her first concert is this Saturday.
And, I would like to add one more request:
Sarah, 14yo, goes in for a check-up tomorrow......she is now only about two yrs away from her next surgery. I know this one will be the hardest, as she will be dealing with this from a teenager's perspective. She was only 6yrs last time. Please pray it goes well. Thanks. I am secretly hoping we can get a year or two extra out of it........last time, she went about 2-4 yrs past the expected timing.
Praying for all of you!
