Hi Everyone,
The comments and questions I am receiving during this visit about the children's education have affected me in ways I didn't see coming. My family members all want me to put ALL of my children in school (and always have)----my dad's investigations this time are not a shock to me.
But I have found myself not wanting to do much since he's been here---almost in a state of paralysis, just numb and not able to get much enthusiasm or energy to even respond. I have been going up to my room to nap daily. I'm not even angry or confrontational (---at least that would be healthy?) And it's Holy Week! I wish it were a *holier* week, on my end. Not much effort for extra things.
Anyway, please pray for me and my children that "toxic effects" would be minimized, and I would not internalize my dad's attitudes and comments. And that I prepare emotionally and spiritually for my MOM'S visit on April 12th! She is usually more hurtful than my dad.
Also, the doctor just called with lab resutls of my 16 year old son and requested retesting. He hates having his blood drawn! Good for Holy Week, I guess. His white blood cell count was low and there was protein in his urine.
Thank you everyone---you always come through for us. You are so important to me!!!

Nina, it sounds like you're having a really challenging Holy Week. It is OK to feel as you do...when you're being challenged at every turn, it is very hard to feel interest in other events. It's OK...I am sure God will understand and accept your suffering.
Holding your family in prayer, especially during these weeks of challenge...

Praying, Nina. That must be so hard. I think you are living the Via Dolorosa. "Blessed are those that mourn; blessed are the persecuted..."

Nina, your week *is* holy. What did Jesus do when he was brought before the Sanhedrin, before Pilate, before Herod? He said nothing. He was neither angry nor confrontational. He didn't have to defend himself to prove that he was the Son of God. And you don't have to defend yourself to those who are nonbelievers in your abilities to shape independent adults.
Dear Lord, please soften these parents' hearts to the many benefits ~ much beyond the scope of a scholastic education ~ of homeschooling. Help them to realize that as their daughter is an adult, she can make decisions for her own family. And help them to curb their judgements, based on the way they chose to live and work when they were raising a family, of the way their daughter chooses to live and work. Amen.
God bless,

Many prayers for you Nina. My husband is also recovering this week after dealing with his mother this weekend. Walk with Our Lord in all this and trust in His grace. It is indeed a Holy Week.

I love you all so much!! And your prayers.
Thank you for your words of advice and consolation.
I feel better this AM because I got a good night's sleep---probably due to your praying----and I am going to embrace the rest of this week and have joy and hope in the Redemption, no matter what.
I am going to take my sweet Nicholas to have his tests redone and be inspired by his gentle bearing of his little cross of the blood draw and be reminded of how my children walk the Way of the Cross with me. We have been given a family mission---and NEED to feel blessed, not otherwise.
Praying back for all of you, too; please know that, sisters.
