My dear friend's grandmother-in-law passed away Sunday after a long battle with cancer and Alzheimer's. This dear lady was such a lovely person, a true Carolina gentlewoman. Her grandson (husband of my friend) is driving alone from the midwest to NC for the funeral. My friend can't go because she fears she'll be in huge trouble at work if she goes...and they really need her job, not least of all because they are working toward adopting a child. She's beside herself because she can't go and her husband is making that long drive alone.

Please pray for them as they mourn their beloved grandmother.
