We are not certain what is wrong; we saw the doctor this afternoon and she suspects a fairly ordinary virus of some sort, but we have to try hard to keep him hydrated and get/keep his blood sugar up. We haven't seen an elevated temperature since Thursday but yesterday and today his appetite is very low and he hasn't been keeping down all of what little he eats. His throat looks red so soreness may be why he's only taking sips of water instead of drinking a lot though he is not in need of an IV yet. He's obviously acting sick, but is sleeping a lot and otherwise quieter than usual but not miserable most of the time.
