I converted just last year, and during RCIA I was quite vocal on pro-life issues. Apparently I was sufficiently vocal that I have been asked to give the lecture on the 5th Commandment tomorrow night at my parish's RCIA program. I have it prepared and ready to go, just pray that the Lord would speak through me and that I would say just exactly what needs to be said specifically for the people in that room to understand and accept the Lord's teaching on Life issues.
I am a catechist and therefore used to teaching the faith, but that's to Catholic 4th graders, not a roomful of people older than me (I'm 26) who are at varying points on the theological spectrum. I am getting pretty nervous. I believe I can do this (especially through Christ!), but I am so afraid to choke and lose the message. PLEASE pray for me, especially around 7:30-9 PM EDT tomorrow night.
Thank you so much.

God bless your talk! Dh spoke to the same group last fall, and I think they were pretty easy on him.

You'll do great! I think that people will be impressed by your passion and desire to share the truth, especially at your age.

Oh, thank you all so much for your prayers! I think it went really well, a couple of people came up afterward and were very complimentary and said they got a lot out of it. So I am extremely relieved and grateful to God for that.
I truly enjoy talking about and teaching the faith. I left feeling so energized. It is the most wonderful challenge, I'd love to do it more full-time someday when Ian is older.
It was funny, I finished the talk about five minutes before Father was scheduled to come in for Q and A, and someone asked me to tell them about my first confession, what to expect, etc. (they'll be doing this soon). I went off on a long riff about how great confession is, all the wonderful graces we get, how you can really feel them, etc., and then proceeded to basically give commentary on Fr.'s confessional style and penances (or lack thereof -- he's very easy on us) ... nothing bad, since I love our priest, but I was running my big mouth and of course he was standing right behind me listening to my whole commentary and review about my experiences with him in Confession. And the whole class was in on it except me. And I said, "Watch Father walk in as I'm talking about him like this," and they all pointed and said "He's standing right there." Too embarrassing, but we all had a good laugh.
Thanks again for your prayers.
