I am having a terrible time with trying to get stains out of my baby's clothes, especially when she has a leaky, poopy diaper. I feel like I have tried everything and they just don't come out! I am thinking that maybe it is a water problem, too soft maybe.
Please tell me your best laundry secret! I don't remember this being a problem with the first six babies.  I should be getting better at this, not worse.  It's really sort of embarrassing!

I find Zout works best on getting stains (even ones accidently set in by going through the washer and dryer) out.

I use to soak my babies' things overnight in a bucket of hot water and Biz. It got rid of the formula stains and the leaking diaper stains. It was also good for carrot stains too!

An overnight Oxy Clean soak. Be careful to only dissolve it in warm water and then let the soak be cold.

Dare I admit that I went through an entire bucket of Oxy Clean using huge scoops of it before I read the directions and dissolved in warm water first? It makes an amazing difference...like, it actually works!

Thanks! I used to use the OxyClean soak method before we moved and somehow forgot about it. I will try it again.
Is Biz a laundry product? I don't remember seeing it in the store.

Biz is a laundry product...you really need a 24-hour soak. Same with OxyClean...it's just not the same if you don't put in that entire day's worth of soaking.
Sometimes it is really hopeless, unfortunately, but certainly all of the soaks are worth a try before you toss an outfit.

I have never been able to remove all our laundry stains -- until I found Oxy Clean. Works wonders. I throw a bit into every load of wash, but for really stained things, I do a pre-soak in Oxy Clean.
A bit off-topic, but I just have to share: I also think the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It gets marks off the walls that I thought could never be removed.

I cloth diped both my dc, and this is what worked for me(and I exclusively breastfed btw).....
A three-cycle process
1) Using Arm & Hammer detergent and Washing Soda I would soak in cold to release stains-either overnight or at least 6 hours.
2) Then wash on regular warm cycle using the Arm & Hammer duo.
3) Then do the same with hot water.
Drying is best in the sun-a natural bleacher. If cold,freezing weather,still hang in sun(if any!) and then fluff and warm in hot dryer.
This is a very cheap approach, and gentle to babes skin.(My ds had/has horrible excema.)

My aunt told me about oxy clean when my first dd was born! I love oxy clean too! Sometimes I have had to soak some really bad stains for 3 or 4 days in it. They almost always come out. I found the oxy clean liquid doesn't work as well and the oxy clean spray turned one of my whites yellow.  The powder has never failed me though.
My aunt also recommends Dreft to treat baby stains and it works pretty well to, but is pricy.
