Does anyone know where to purchase cotton nightgowns for little girls around the age of 3 or 4?
My dd wants a nightgown and asked me to sew her one  . While I believe that to be an easy project had I an ounce of energy I would jump right in, but its not going to happen right now.
Any ideas?

I got my dd a Lanz nightgown at Costco...it's cute and just like the kind I wore as a girl. It's not all cotton, though (although still USA made), but has polyester in it.
She loves it. I think they had a good variety of sizes.

Yeah, you won't find 100% cotton sleepwear for children anymore.
I had a friend make some from some flannel I bought. Yeah, it's marked "not intended for children's sleepwear"...but I don't light candles, and there is no fireplace in this house.
Your choices are either at least partially polyester, or make it yourself (unless you have a crafty friend).
There are some good patterns out there, btw.

I bought some for my daughter at the Carter's outlet a year ago. They do not always have them (almost all of theirs are poly) so I bought some larger sizes as well. They were around $10-$12.
When I have googled "cotton nightgowns for children", quite a few links show up but they are all $60 or so  .

I have found all cotton ones at TJ Maxx and Marshsll's but of course their stock really varies. They are the Sara's Prints brand, which are kind of expensive at full price.
Then there are

at Lands End.

Lydia of purple has mother and daughter look alikes. My daughter would LOVE that!!

I had forgotten, too about the flame resistant part so I guess a cotton one is harder to find.

I was on a quest for the same thing, same size this winter! Sara's Prints is a company that makes 100% cotton nightgowns for girls but they are usually $40. I found them for $20 on sale at Campmore.com and it looks like they are still available. Also Vision Forum has This One for $22 which is a cotton/poly blend but is SO sweet. It takes about a month to arrive though. I ALWAYS wore night gowns...what happened?
And can someone explain to me why my sleeping child needs to be flame resistant??

Apparently the flame resistant thing is only law in CA., but apparently they are concerned about candles and fireplaces, or something. Similar to the concerns about people's costumes at Halloween, and making sure that the jack o'lanterns don't set them on fire, iykwim.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has the regulations on sleepwear being either flame-resistent or close fitting and what defines that.

I just wonder what chemicals sleepwear is treated with. Here in the Twin Cities, companies like 3M come up with chemicals for nifty purposes like waterproofing and later find out the dangers. Personally I stick with untreated cotton (like Hanna Anderson long johns) and make sure to test the smoke alarms.

I looked at the article and read it (quickly ). I'm wondering if "flame-resistant" means it is treated with chemicals. I never thought about that before. I don't like the idea of her sleeping in a chemically treated nightgown. I mean we come in contact enough chemicals and if I had a choice I rather it be untreated.
But could something be "flame-resistant" just because it doesn't burn quickly due to how its woven (or something)? I didn't quite understand that in the article (probably due to my quick reading!).
