Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am new to the forum but have been reading the posts for a long time. I just love it! I recently have switched to more modest clothing (skirts) and my 7yrdd already wears dresses all the time (funny how she is way ahead of me as far as modesty goes). I am wondering about my 10 month old. She is not walking yet and dresses for everyday use are tricky as she can't seem to crawl in them. I'm wondering what everyone else did for dd that were crawling?

My dd's are 23 and 7 now, but I remember having them in shorter dresses and leg warmers -- they were actually heavy tights! I cut the feet off so they wouldn't slip and fall on the stairs.

You can find shorter dresses...or if you sew, make them. Just make the hem a bit deeper...then when she's walking a bit, let the hem down.

THis is why they make those bloomer/leggings outfits. Keeps the backside covered, and still is a dress, technically.

That's how I am going with this newest one (due in June).

No baby dresses here! My baby, 9 months, is my 5th girl. Her big sisters, ages 7, 5, and 3, wear dresses daily. Her oldest sister, almost 11, wears them only for Mass. Maybe once she is walking I will invest in some dresses for her, but while she is crawling pants work best.

My nine month old dd wears dresses exclusively and they sure don't slow her down at all! She crawls all over and just started on the stairs. The baby dresses are cut a bit shorter- just knee length as opposed to my bigger girls who wear longer styles.

I put dresses on mine. I always HOPE it will slow them down, but it doesn't. They get used to it and learn to work with the dress.
