I'm new to blogging. Caught the bug while blogging our adoption journey. I have a couple questions though.

1. How do I add the daily Mass readings?
2. How do I add the column headings on the sidebar where I can put what books we're reading and my plans for each childs schoolyear etc.?
3. How do I get other people's blog addresses on the side bar?
4. How do I add the address to my signature line here?

I'm using typepad and have the Pro level.

Lisa, welcome to the joys of blogging!

1) HTML code for Mass readings is here.

2) Add sidebar content by creating Typelists. (See the Typelist tab on your Typepad user page?) Choose Reading Typelist for your booklists, and the Notes Typelist is useful for listing school plans, etc.

3) Create a Links Typelist.

4) Add the code to the sig box on your profile page. It will look like this, except with no spaces before/after the brackets. (If I don't put the spaces in this example, it'll just convert to a hotlink instead of showing you the code!)

[ URL=http://youraddresshere.com/ ]your blog name[ /URL ]

When you create a Typelist, designate it "Reading." Then you just enter the ISBN # and it automatically loads the image of the book on your sidebar.

And make sure the Reading Typelist is configured to display thumbnails. Just click the "configure" tab and you'll see the option. :)

Gang, has anyone else been having trouble commenting places? First I had problems with blogspot, and for the past few weeks Typepad has been a problem too. I do not really understand it.

I think you have had issues with Lycos blogs, too. I wonder if it's some setting?

Yes, as a matter of fact, I posted a blank comment to your CCD blog just today.   (Trust me, it was a good one too!]

But now the problems are really big. I cannot comment on typepad at all, and Agnes hasn't been able to fill out her online quizzes in her Memoria Press Logic Course!!! It is just weird, and I do not even had a good idea of what to do about it.

If you haven't done it, I'd suggest rebooting. Second suggestion, clearing out your cache and history for your browser. You might need to delete some cookies if that doesn't work.

It might not be on your end, but because Agnes can't work on another site, it just might be some fluke on your computer.

Alice, have you had a new modem or wireless equipment installed recently? I couldn't upload pictures to Typepad for over 2 days and later realized that when my husband installed our new wireless router, the parental controls were reset to not allow it. I wonder if you checked the parental controls on your system and modem if something has been reset.
