Here's a great review of a new book on the effects of promiscuity on young people from the WSJ's   Opinion Journal. Seems C. S. Lewis was right when he said that treating se*ual appetites just like all other appetites will end up doing just the opposite... (I paraphrase the much more eloquent Lewis).

The book, Unprotected is written anonymously by a campus Psychiatrist as the author fears her (his?) peers will try to ruin her (his?) career.

Wow! It is so sad that the wisdom of keeping such personal matters within the bonds of marriage doesn't seem to make sense to some people until it's too late. It really IS the way God made us -- s*xual intimacy is so powerful and affects us so deeply, no matter how much we try to believe that is just an old-fashioned, puritanical idea that *doesn't hold true for us*.
