Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know I have been spending WAY too much time on the computer lately. I think I am trying to escape something. I can tell because even though my house is tidy, it could use a good cleaning, and even though my kids are learning, we're doing the minimum. I act like I don't have time but I think I am just trying to avoid it all. Am I burning out? That is really a scary thought for me. I love homeschooling and having my kids with me all day. I don't want to become burned out and ineffective. Any advice on what I should do?

Becky, I often go through the same thing. I'd suggest a walk outside, or if you feel better taking a nap or curling up in bed with a good book -- it might make you feel better.

We all go through periods of burnout I think, or almost-burnout. The key is to recognize it and pull back. Oh and yes, for me personally, turning the computer off actually proves to be VERY relaxing, even though I often think it won't help.

Praying for you.

Could you maybe take a long weekend away from the computer?

I remember when teaching I felt dull and listless in my teaching and such right before a vacation. It probably was just my need for a break. Maybe you are just getting ready for Christmas?!?!

Thank you Stef and Marybeth. I was thinking maybe I just need to turn off the computer for a while. I think I'm addicted!
