Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

two actually. Tomorrow night. Who wants to buy a house at Christmastime anyway? Good grief! I hope we do sell our house, soon, but it would make for weird timing if it were to sell now. We'd actually look for a rental until we were closer to being ready to buy.   Has anyone sold/bought a house this time of year?

Ummm. Yep. Just bought one. You are right about the timing being lousy. I'm just saying...

Sorry Theresa, hope I didn't sound rude, I'm just suprised at the timing, and it's not just one viewing, but two!    I'd truly be thrilled if we were to get an offer!

I did see the post about your new home on your blog, how exciting!

No, no, not rude at all. It actually IS quite insane to buy or sell around the holidays. Like I don't have enough to do!

We bought our house last year 2 weeks before Christmas. just worked out that way -- hubby was already working here part time and we were tired of traveling back and forth staying in hotels. The bad thing is we didn't sell our house until several months later -- to hubby's company, because no one would buy it. Not a great time to sell these days, so I'm happy for you guys that are able to generate interest in buyers. My friend and mom have been trying to sell for months.

Thank you all. It's chaotic here. (I'm trying to keep it joyful!) But I am beside myself right at this moment. The job offer came in the mail today, it's staring me in the face. I cannot imagine selling our home and starting a new job right at Christmas. I am aksing Our Lady of Peace and St. Joseph to calm and guide us.

Yes, three agos at this time bought and sold and moved in...I had 21 days until Christmas to get my house ready for 50 people. I am still amazed I did it.

My girlfriend bought, sold and moved from 12/23-1/7 in 2003/4. Crazy, but they have the house of their dreams.

We will pray for you. I know you had posted Molly was sick..I wonder if not enough sleep adds to the stress for you!! Praying for good sleep, health and peace!!

God bless,

Mb

We bought in December five years ago. Our 5th baby was ten days old when we moved in on Dec 14!
A little crazy, but not impossible! Besides, if people are still just looking, you would be able to get through Christmas at least before settling.

Good luck!

Well Lisbet we are moving right now second load leaving in the hour and having our third open house in two days time    Do you know what I am feeling pretty calm I am quite surprised at myself, I'm just praying and having faith in Our Lord. In the past when I have worried about things I always found later that there was no need really as He always looked after things so this time I'm not worrying ahead of time.

I was saying to the dc the other day that we are a little like Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem we don;t quite know what is ahead.

Oh I was a little concerned when I took our first load out earlier, the new house is less than half the size of our current house so I'm not too sure how I'll fit just the 'basics' (rest in storage) but it will work out.

I'll pray that you will be 'flooded' with peace.

We moved three days before Christmas several years ago...it was difficult, but wondrous all at the same time. I recall shopping for groceries, with children in tow, the day before moving, feeling totally overwhelmed by it all, when an angel in a baseball cap (masquerading as a kind young gemtleman) offered to help unload our groceries onto the conveyor...I will never forget his kindness at such a desperate moment! I pray the Lord sends you all angels in disguise to assist you in your moves!
It may help all of you, who are in such times of transition, to contemplate the Holy Family on the way to Bethlehem, as well as their Flight into Egypt. May these days be filled with God's wisdom, grace and peace for each of your families. When you are surrounded by boxes and chaos, imagine yourselves in a stable in Bethlehem and experience the profound peace that Jesus, Mary and Joseph shared with Shepherds and Kings, Angels and Livestock!

Our house just closed two weeks ago!!!!!

We paid $10,000 to get it off our hands. Can you believe it? We actually paid instead of made anything?

We priced it to sell since holding to it longer was killing us financially and we would have lost way more to wait for the market to turn. The market is so bad right now. Be sure you have it priced right and don't look too much for a profit (unless you are in a rare city were the market is okay).

Sarah, Oh how awful that you had to take a hit. But I'm glad you got it off your hands.    Our house is priced well below the comparable ones in our neighborhood, and we have it priced just to break even. It's a difficult pill to swallow, but we are willing to sell it for what we paid for it 6 years ago.

I feel much better about the viewings. Our house, while small, looks so homey and cozy all ready for the holidays. Both viewings will be tonight while we are at mass and latin class, and my husband got a good job offer at the with the new company. Things are falling into place now, I could just sense Our Lady and St. Joseph guiding us in all of this.

Lisa -

Praying that the special charm and warmth of a home ready to greet the Christchild will lead to an offer!

Peace,
Nancy
