Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm the type who never ever asks for anything, but this year is different. So for me to hint... sent DH a link to register, suggested he clear his calendar, and let him know my mom would watch our three kiddos that he can't mistake what I want.

I'm hoping for tickets to see Father Corapi when he comes to Seattle in February.

Is there something special you are hoping will be under you tree this year?

I have NO idea this year...My dh has been asking my sister for suggestions, and she's been asking me. I'm really stumped this year. I suggested a romantic weekend before the baby comes in April...we'll see what he comes up with

I usually don't want anything either. But then my sewing machine broke and I have dropped enough hints to my six year old daughter that I am guaranteed a new one under the tree. But I am giving my husband night out without the children. That also sounds nice.

Hmm well I got to see Fr. Corapi this fall, and the only thing I have been asking for for yearsssssss is a gift certificate to buy fabric was given to me my dd and her dh just before they moved last week...I'm as stumped as you. I have too much "stuff" as it is. Oh, I wouldn't mind a curio cabinet, as my collection of Mary statues is outgrowing it's space.

A new glider to rock the new baby in, but I don't think it's in the cards for this year.

I actually told my dh I would like a cleaning lady to come at least once a month. I feel so overwhelmed with everything. I think it would help me to be more peaceful if some of the housework that I just don't seem to have time for was done (like cleaning ceiling fans and kitchen cabinets). I was totally amazed when he said "Okay, just find someone you can trust". Now I have to find someone! I was caught off guard when he agreed!

New kitchen and bath towels.

They seem like the one thing I always need and never buy!

Oh, and more books, of course....

I don't NEED anything.

I'd LIKE some new workout videos/DVDs and some new board shorts and bathers/swimmers - its summer here and my old ones are a size too big right now.

One of the things that I am buying for dh is   Advent and Christmas - Wisdom from Pope John Paul II.

Of course, I want to read it, too!

While Mike was out of work, we let much of the not-so-necessary home projects wait, like carpet cleaning, gutter cleaning, etc. Now that he is back to work, I hope to have some of that done for Christmas, especially my dining room chair cushions as they are really nasty looking.

Rebecca - I hope you're not planning to actually PAY someone to do this for you! Joanne fabrics frequently has their decorator fabrics on sale for 40 or 50 % off. A few yards will go a LOOOONG way to new chair cushions. That and a staple gun .

I'm struggling with Christmas wants too. Really, anything I ask for is just one more thing for me to pick up/clean/declutter. I asked for a real teapot - which I think my mom (and brother, maybe???) took care of. I'm thinking gift certificates to the fabric store (as I have recently re-picked-up the desire to sew) and to the bookstores. Though truthfully, I sometimes feel weary of the constant picking up of books, too.

Love the teapot Cici. I agree with you about not wanting one more thing to pick up/clean/declutter. Hence my asking for a cleaning lady! We're trying to take this approach with the kids this year too. If it is something that will involve a lot of cleaning up it better be worth it educationally! So we just added to the Lego and K'nex sets that they already have.
I have to admit though, I wish I would have asked for maternity clothes. I thought we were done having babies since I had hit pre-menopause early. I gave away all my maternity clothes (except one outfit) and most of the baby clothes! Oh well, live and learn!

There's nothing I really need, but I would love some felt for craft projects and new slippers (in blue aster!).

Well, being the naive new bride that I was, I chose a dry clean only fabric for my dining room chairs, in bone, nonetheless ! Needless to say, they get dirty in a flash after having them cleaned. The dry clean man charges $20 a piece to clean them. There are six. Do you think I can recover them (with something washable and dark) for less than that?

I WANT a laminator. And perhaps a sewing machine, but not sure if I have the energy for learning yet another skill (currently working on knitting).
What I NEED are kitchen cabinets, new flooring for the dining room and kitchen, new apppliances, master bedroom furniture, etc, etc, etc for the new house. So I think I will most likely not get the "wants," as the "needs" are so many!
