Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have a pet rat terrier who has the privilege of being an in-house lap dog.

Tis shedding season and I've fought this problem for years with little success.

How do you all (with house dogs) keep control over the shedding?

Our pet has a designated sleep area...several, matter of fact...but hair still finds its way on the furniture.

Tape rollers can pick up dog hair, and kids seem to like having that cleaning job. Also, a good lint brush will pick up a lot off couches and chairs. Lightly wetting the fabric first (run a damp sponge over it) can make the hair easier to pick up.

Daily brushing the dog helps a lot if you have time and a willing pet. Also, you can try giving the dog a bath and then a really good brushing AFTER he's dry- that gets a lot of hair out that would otherwise go on the carpet/furniture.

Lastly, at pet supply stores there are even special brushing "mitts" that are supposed to help. I've never tried one, but they could be worth a shot...

We have the same problem at our house. Luckily the kids love to use the lint brush.

Ideally daily brushing would happen.

We have a portable shoulder vacuum and vacuum daily.

Its still really hard. Our dog is in only one room.

Cay...isn't a rat terrier a very small dog?      I wish we had a small dog-hair problem. Instead, we have blue tumbleweeds all over the house from our Aussie.

The only thing I recommend is vacuum, vacuum, vacuum, and a daily brushing.
