Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Oh, that...
Sorry, but no story really.

Oma (my mother/his grandmother) is the creative artisit in the family. She made that for the graduate. She made the face with a marker pen and cut the top off the melon and filled it with melon/cantaloupe balls and grapes. She made the graduate cap out of cardboard and foil.

She also made these little graduation caps for all the little kids. I think she said she used upside down cupcakes, graham crackers and twisler (sp?) candy.

Believe me, things like this on a fruit bar are rich conversation starters.

My first graduate's party wasn't an "elegant" affair but he's an outdoorsy kind of guy (loves hunting and fishing) so it was a very "outdoorsy" affair and a very special day for him. Just the way he likes it.
Fun for all!!!

Cay, I was eyeing those little graduation caps the other day when I glanced at these pictures....they look just like something my kids would like!

I'm thinking of borrowing the idea for my daughter's Kindergarten graduation!

Thanks for sharing the photos of your beautiful family!
